My husband and I went on the January 2020 trip and had such an amazing time! As big beer enthusiasts, we were excited to visit local breweries and Jayson makes sure that we got a vip experience! We have never gone on a tour group type trip before but our experience was great! This is definitely not your cookie cutter big tour group. Jayson plans every trip carefully and with a small group makes it flexible to give everyone options and input on their preferred activities!

It was so easy not to worry about the itinerary or driving because Jayson and Minor have everything taken care of. The food is great with highlights being the lunch at Costa Rica Meadery and Minor's breakfasts! Obviously this trip is for beer drinkers, but there is definitely much more to a Costa Rica Brew-Venture! We went whitewater rafting on the Balsa River, hiked to La Fortuna waterfall, spent a day at the Baldi Hot Springs, enjoyed a sunset boat ride and spent days at the beach and pool! We were lucky to have a great group of us which made the experience even better! Costa Rica is such a beautiful country and we can't wait to go back!

  I wanted to celebrate my husband‚Äôs birthday doing something unique and we found a gem in Costa Rica Brew Ventures! We had never been to Costa Rica, and I‚Äôm not even a beer drinker but went along for the well-planned ride and it was worth it! The trip makes you feel like a kid again (well, one that can drink to your heart‚Äôs content) in that it is all mapped out for you! We didn‚Äôt have to worry about a thing and being parents of two young kids, this was bliss. Minor, our Tico driver extraordinaire, was one of the trip‚Äôs highlights. He was super fun, chill, funny, warm, a great singer, a safe driver, and an excellent chef to boot! The beers were FANTASTIC (and this is coming from a wine lover). I wanted to take them all home (and even did check some in my bag!). The places are so off the beaten path you feel like you are experiencing authentic Costa Rica. The food is excellent (and we are foodies) and Jayson thinks about every detail and makes sure you are safe and having fun. He even arranged for a kegerator to be at the house for us with local craft beer. My husband had a freak accident surfing and broke his nose and needed stitches. Minor didn‚Äôt hesitate to drive us where we needed to go for care, helped translate, and even got him some medicine! Jayson went above and beyond taking care of all the details during what could have been a stressful time in a foreign country. We felt well supported and HIGHLY RECOMMEND this trip, these people, the beauty of Costa Rica, and all the beers. We plan to go back in two years and know we will be in excellent hands on a trip of a lifetime!

  Let me start by saying that I never review anything on the internet. Having said that, if you are considering a trip to Costa Rica, you should absolutely put CRBV at the top of your list. Jayson and Minor are extremely accommodating and take you to places you either won't be able to find or won't be allowed into on your own. Minor also put up with all of our annoying questions about the local culture and customs.

There are plenty of great beer stops on the way along with friendly people at each brewery. You can tell these guys and gals are passionate about their breweries. The Costa Rica Meadery was an incredible experience; the mead and lunch were fantastic, but a truly unique tour through the farm really set it apart. I would also say that although the trip is centered around breweries, you don't have to be a beer snob to have a good time. You also get to spend time enjoying the beautiful country with a few planned activities along the way.

TL;DR version, just book the trip already. You won't regret it.

  I went with my family for a week this past January and the trip was more amazing than we could have imagined. Our driver/local tour guide Minor was awesome and very patient with us tourist. He also is a great cook and cooked us a few local meals. Jason is a great guy and took us to a lot of cool places. We got a lot of personal tours through multiple breweries that would be impossible to find otherwise. Everything was planned very well and the places we saw were beautiful. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone looking for a nice trip out of the country. You do not have to be a big beer drinker to appreciate this trip, that's just a bonus. It is not like other trip through vacation companies. It is very personal and a great experience.

  Really awesome trip. Costa Rica is like other tourist destinations in that if you don't have the inside scoop you just end up doing all the cookie-cutter tourist activities. Why travel a thousand miles for that? Fortunately, Jayson has been going to Costa Rica for almost twenty years and knows where all of the "off the beaten path" gems are (I didn't even know there WAS a craft beer scene in Costa Rica!). Definitely recommended.

  My wife and I don‚Äôt usually travel through a tour operator, and generally prefer to wander and do our own thing. This trip was the antithesis of commercial tours, however, and I‚Äôm so glad we saw Costa Rica this way. The local driver/cook/fixer (Minor) is an amazing person to spend time with, proud to share his country and culture with you, and full of patience for tourists. He is an excellent cook and a safe driver. Jayson has deep knowledge of the craft beer scene in Costa Rica and arranged for tastings in places I never would have found on my own. I really enjoyed meeting the brewers, and found the beers much more drinkable than typical American craft beer. I am not a beer fanatic and don‚Äôt think you need to be one to enjoy a trip with Costa Rica Brew-Ventures. Finally, I thought the value for our money was very good. Most of our meals were included, and the food was tasty and plentiful.

  Never been to Costa Rica? Visited before and want to go back? YOU HAVE TO GO WITH Costa Rica Brew-Ventures. Our trip was one of the best trips of my life! The love Costa Ricans have for their country is palpable on this trip. The brewers are awe-inspiring! From San Jose to La Fortuna to Playa Flamingo. Nothing disappointed!

Travel: Ease of pick up is on point and J and MInor (our driver) had a beer waiting for us in the van in San Jose. Minor's van is super comfortable with lots of leg room. His driving is also outstanding...I was always at ease with him behind the wheel. He might also play HIS band-Rumbeke- for you!!

Accommodations: Our hotel in San Jose was like an artist collective! Great local art to view while sitting outside and enjoying the wild life on the porch. Every location had its perks. Every place was clean and great for optimal relaxation. And the breakfast at every location...SOOOO GOOOOOOOD!

Food: Wow wow wow. I had no idea what to expect from Costa Rican cuisine. The tour did an amazing job with offering lots of variety for food selection. We had bar food, a private chef prepared lunch, a nice dinner out and so many more delicious and interesting meals. Not a single meal disappointed!

Tour guide: Jayson IS AMAZING!! I cannot sing his praises enough. For every amazing day planned he has 5 back-up plans in case the day changes. He is truly there for your every need. If you want to venture off on your own, he has several different suggestions for every town we are in. Minor is also there to help you get where you need to go! Jayson is thoughtful in all his choices on every step of the tour. And the relationships he has with the Costa Ricans makes the trip top notch!!

THE BREWS: I love good beer and Costa Rican beer is truly World Craft beer! I was so so so impressed with every place we visited. Here are some of my highlights--The hospitality and passion at Costa Rica Meadery was out of this world. They are doing so many amazing things and everything was delicious, Michael and Alejandra are legit! 5inco Amigos Cervecería Artesanal was one of my favorite places. These dudes are doing AMAZING things...all out of a shipping container! All I can say is ...their passion for beer <3 <3 <3. Cerveceria Independiente has an amazing vibe and great beer garden to chill and enjoy their fabulous beers. That blueberry sour...out of this world!! Okay, I know this was a long review...but I hope it shows you how utterly amazing this trip is!! Goooooo!! We are heading back next year. It will be a new route for us, but I would do our last trip all over again, and again, and again!! Thank you Jayson and Minor. You both rock!!

  My husband and I went on the January 2019 trip and we absolutely had the best time! It was so incredibly organized but without any rushing as we went to a new adventure everyday as well as visiting great breweries and restaurants in Costa Rica. The van was comfortable and our driver was great.
